What Does DAWG Really Mean?
Mission Statement
About Our Youth Minister
Mission Trip with Catholic Heart WorkCamp
“DAWG” stands for Disciples Always Witnessing God.
In Christianity, the DISCIPLES were the students of Jesus. The term disciple means, “learner”. We want to ALWAYS be LEARNERS of JESUS! We want to learn all that God has to offer us. We are seekers of KNOWLEDGE and WISDOM. We not only want to WITNESS that which God has to share with us! We want to SHARE our heartfelt faith in Christ. As in a courtroom, we are called to be a WITNESS for the GOSPEL.
GOD. The proper name of the Supreme and Infinite Personal Being, the Creator and Ruler of the Universe, whom humankind owes obedience and worship.
The All Souls Youth Ministry is committed to the reality that young people are an important and
integral part of our parish community. The youth program seeks to foster maturing in faith of the youth of our parish and the surrounding community.
We affirm the gifts of our youth and we foster opportunities for young people to share their gifts with the larger community. The spiritual and social needs of the youth are to be met with the committed leadership, guidance and support of our parish adults. The adults and youth of our parish are therefore provided with the opportunity to grow together in Christian faith.
Through a variety of programs, events and outreach, we seek to draw young people into responsible participation in the life, work and mission of the parish community. We believe this ministry is to, with, by, and for young people and is a blessing for the entire community.
Hi! My name is Michelle Murphy. I would like to welcome you to the DAWG family if this is your first time! For you Old DAWG’s, Welcome back!
I grew up in the Central Florida area graduating from Bishop Moore High School. My first, paid, Youth Ministry job was with St. James Cathedral in Downtown Orlando. After serving there for 3 years, I fulfilled a life long dream by becoming a Missionary in the Dominican Republic. So that’s where I learned my “better than nothing” Spanish. I have served at Divine Mercy in Merritt Island, Our Lady of the Lakes in Deltona and finally here at All Souls! I met my husband Brian on a Catholic Dating web site. We have been married 8 years this December and have adopted 2 beautiful girls; Ashlin 6 and Ella 3. I have “been loving” being a Youth Minister for 22 years!
Hit me up some time!
